New Dining Room Rug with Boutique Rugs

I’m so excited to finally share another finished room in our 1920’s renovated farmhouse— the dining room! You have to walk through the dining room to go upstairs, and it’s also where we sit down for family meals since we don’t have a table in our kitchen. I wanted this room to feel super cozy with a lot of warmth, wood tones, and Boutique Rugs has come to the rescue with the perfect rug for this space!

Joanie's Target themed 2nd Birthday Party

I can’t believe my sweet Joanie is 2 years old already! Time flies by so fast, and in just 2 short months she’s going to be a big sister! Jo’s 1st birthday party was cancelled last year due to Covid, so I was extremely excited to be able to plan an outdoor celebration for her this year with friends and family in attendance. When picking a theme, I wanted to do something that hasn’t really been done before. We are frequent shoppers at Target, and Joanie loves going with me, so I figured let’s have a Target party! It was a hit, and Jo and her friends had such a fun time!

Playroom Reveal

Almost 2 years later since we’e moved into our Jones Co. home and our playroom is officially complete! When building our home, we didn’t want to designate an actual bedroom as a playroom. Instead, we came up with the idea to have the storage closet attached to the upstairs den finished instead of it being left unfinished for storage! We thought it would be the perfect space to make a little playroom for Joanie and future children (hello baby girl on the way!) and I love how it’s attached to our den.

Farmhouse Lighting

I’m excited to share some of my favorite affordable farmhouse lighting options today! When designing our Jones Co. home, they offered a huge selection of lighting options that were perfect choices to help complete our home. It can be difficult to install your own light fixtures, especially on super tall ceilings in living spaces, so I loved that it was an option to have Jones Co. install them as a part of the building process.

How I Decorated for Fall 2020

It’s finally Fall, and I’m so excited for cooler weather and pumpkin patches! I had so much fun decorating each space in our Jones Co. home for Fall, and I hope this gives you some inspiration to decorate your home for the new season! If you have any questions about our home design while looking at these pictures, be sure to check out my blog post all about our Jones Co. home design choices here!

Our Jones Co. Home Design Choices

I’ve been so excited to do this blog post for y’all! I’ve had many people who are building a home with Jones Co. message me about which flooring, counters, cabinets, paint colors, etc. that we chose when building our home, and I couldn't remember the exact names. I thought it would be a great time for me to re-visit the design studio in Franklin and familiarize myself with all of the choices we made when designing our home.

Why We Chose our Jones Co. Floor Plan

When deciding to build a home, having the perfect floor plan was so important to us. I was pregnant with Joanie at the time, and we wanted to choose a layout that would work well with a growing family. Immediately upon touring the Jones Co. model home in the Harvest Point community of Spring Hill, I could see myself raising a family in that home. Here is a link to all of the different floor plans that The Jones Co. offers.

Books about Diversity for Toddlers

As a mother, it is my responsibility to make sure that Joanie grows up with a kind heart and soul. It’s never too early to start teaching your child about diversity, and it’s my goal to start reading books with her that feature diverse characters more often.

Organization: Under the Kitchen Sink

Who loves a good before and after as much as I do!? Since quarantine life started, I’ve definitely had the itch to organize every single space in our house. For those of you who are new readers, our home was a custom designed Jones Company home. If you are interested in building a new home in the middle Tennessee area, definitely check them out. Their design studio has every option under the sun to truly customize your dream home, and they made the building process so fun and stress-free.

Decocrated: Spring Home Decor Box

I’m so excited to share one of my favorite subscription boxes with y’all- Decocrated. If you haven’t heard of Decocrated before, they’re a home decor subscription service that sends you a box of carefully curated home decor pieces every season. What I love most about this service is that the pieces can work with any style of home decor, where you consider your style traditional, farmhouse or modern. I’m always having the itch to redecorate and it’s so much fun to be able to use each piece in different rooms of my house and style each decor item in various ways.

DIY Kitchen Open Shelving

I’m so excited to have finally done my first DIY since moving into our new construction home almost a year ago. I can’t believe how fast time is flying, and that we’ve almost been in our house for an entire year! We built our home with The Jones Company, a custom builder based out of Middle Tennessee. Check out their website to see all of their available cities and neighborhoods that they’re currently building in.

Joanie's 1st Birthday: Classic Winnie the Pooh Theme

I can’t believe my baby is officially a one year old! I had been planning her Classic Winnie the Pooh themed birthday party since February, with big plans to make this the best day for her. Joanie has loved Winnie the Pooh and I fell in the love with the colors and vibe of the vintage Pooh characters, so I knew that’s what I wanted her theme to be. All of our friends and family would be here to celebrate, or so we thought.

Farmhouse Easter Decor

With Spring just around the corner, I thought I’d put together some ideas to decorate your home for Easter since we’re all stuck in our homes for the nest few weeks. Decorating has really been helping me take my mind off everything going on, and browsing for decor ideas has been fun for me to get a lot of inspiration to share with you.

Must Have Baby Items: 6-12 Months

Where has the time gone!? Joanie just turned 11 months old, and I thought it would be a good time to do a round up of our favorite baby items since Joanie turned 6 months old. Everything on this list are items/toys that we all use daily. I’ll go into more detail about each item below, and hope it gives you some great ideas of things you could use for your baby in the 6-12 month range, or as a gift to a mama or mom to be.
