Being a former elementary school teacher, I know how important a Montessori-based education can be. If you’re not familiar with what Montessori is, it’s an educational program that focuses on learning through play using toys that are designed to meet the child’s developmental needs. Since these toys provide just the right amount of challenge, it helps foster growth mindset and confidence among children.
All of that being said, I’m extremely excited to partner with Monti Kids, a company that provides Montessori toys in carefully curated subscription kits from birth-3 years. The entire program and materials are all developed by trained child development and early education experts to meet your child’s developmental needs.
The toys are all made of natural wood and materials, with no lights, sounds, or bright colors. This helps your child stay focused and play without getting overstimulated or distracted. Montessori based toys really focus on having your child problem solve and be creative while playing. There are 8 levels total to choose from, and are based on how many months old your child is.
Each Monti Kids subscription kit comes with the following:
6 or more Montessori toys developed by Monti Kids
Demo videos of each toy with instructions on how to introduce it to your child and maximize its benefits.
Tips on how to set up a Montessori play space at home
Access to online guides for all levels you purchased with an active subscription
Expert guidance on how to support your child’s development
Monti Kids was so kind to send us some toys for Joanie to play with. We received the Rolling Drum and Basket with Balls from the Level 3 Montessori Box (months 7-10.5) and the Object Permanence Box from the Level 4 Montessori Box (months 11-13.5).
Joanie has been loving playing with and exploring her new toys. The spinning drum helps develop hand-eye coordination, wrist and arm strength, and it also makes noise as it spins. She’s figured out how to spin it after watching me do it, and is mesmerized by its movement.
She also loves the balls that came in the cutest woven basket that matches her nursery decor. Each ball is a different color and texture, and Joanie loves to grab each one and feel the differences between them. Her favorite is the wooden ball with holes in it.
The Object Permanence Box has been another toy that has sparked so much curiosity out of Joanie, especially since she’s not quite at the suggested age to fully understand it yet. She loves the little blue ball it came with, and we’ve been working on dropping it in the hole. With this object permanence box, you then have to pull open the drawer to find the ball to get it back. She’s figured out how to open the drawer and grab the ball out of it, and I love watching her explore and learn!
If you’d like to know your baby is being stimulated with the correct toys for his/her developmental needs, I highly recommend a Monti Kids toy kit subscription. If you’ve been wanting to try a Montessori based program at home, you can use code JOANIE30 for 30% off your Monti Kids purchase! We hope you end up loving them as much as Joanie and I do!
