Most Used Baby Items
When I first started creating my baby registry, I remember feeling so overwhelmed. There are so many baby products out on the market, I didn’t know what I would actually need and use for Joanie! Now that she is almost 4 months old, I decided to make a list of our most used baby products to this date.
Most of these items were on our registry, and some were items that we decided we needed later on. We use every single one almost daily, and all can be found on Amazon! Keep on reading to learn more about these products and why we love them.
ONE Hatch Baby Grow Smart Changing Pad and Scale
This is one of my absolute favorite baby items! We use it as Joanie’s changing pad and as a scale. I love that I don’t have to put a changing pad cover over it, since it gets dirty fairly often. It’s super easy to clean with a baby wipe. Anything that cuts down on laundry time! It connects to an app on my phone that will actually weigh her too! I typically weigh her every morning to make sure she isn’t losing weight, and will even use it occasionally while nursing. I’ll weigh her before and after a feeding and it will calculate how many ounces she drank! I highly recommend this for any nursing mamas and I just saw it comes in white now too.
Joanie loves this play mat! She has a few that we rotate using, but she just adores her “vegetable friends” on this mat. It also comes with a watermelon pillow for tummy time, and has a mirror and different crinkle items on the side for her to play with.
THREE Hatch Rest Sound Machine
We may have to buy another one of these for when Joanie starts sleeping in her crib at night, because we have gotten so used to this white noise machine! It connects to an app on your phone where you can adjust the nightlight brightness, color, and sound! She’s learned to associate this with bedtime, and I keep the nightlight on for middle of the night feedings.
One of those items that you’re not sure if you’ll actually use, but end up loving! I bring this with me to the grocery store and other retail stores where I know I’ll need space in the cart, but her car seat takes up too much space. She loves to lay in it and have freedom to move, and it allows me to get some groceries!
We use this all the time! I love that it is white and matches our kitchen decor. I keep it right next to the sink and place bottles in it as I wash them. It works so well!
Yep, another sound machine! This one was recommended to me by a friend for car rides, and it works like a charm! We use this to help with nap times while out and about, and also keep it in her crib for her daytime naps.
SEVEN My Breast Friend Nursing Pillow
I tried the Boppy, but this nursing pillow is a game changer! It buckles around your waist to give your back much needed support, and has a pocket where I’ll keep the nipple shields. It also has raised sections on it to help support her head. The cover is washable as well!
EIGHT Miracle Swaddle
If you get one item, seriously get this swaddle!! It is absolutely a miracle!! Joanie broke out of every single blanket swaddle, the Halo sleep sack swaddles, etc. that we tried, and it would wake her up all the time at night. This swaddle has arm flaps that tuck underneath her arms and then wraps twice around her body. Her arms cannot escape!! As she’s nearing 4 months, we have to transition out of this soon as she gets stronger, but she started sleeping at least 5 hours straight at night as soon as we put her in this around the time she was 2 weeks old. #1 baby item for sure!!
NINE Infant Optics Baby Monitor
This baby monitory has over 30,000 5 star reviews on Amazon, and I understand why! It works so well for when Joanie is napping in her crib, and I’m sure it will work just as well when she starts sleeping in her crib at night.
This is one of those items we decided to buy around month ago. She started sweating a lot in her car seat and stroller in this Tennessee summer heat, and I love how this fan can easily wrap around her case seat or stroller. It has different speeds, and I charge it daily since it seems to run out of battery pretty quickly.
ELEVEN Skip Hop Activity Center
Joanie’s favorite thing by far! She loves to stand and will play in this activity center for hours if we let her! She loves the piano on it, and has just started to get an interest in touching all of the toys that come with it. I’ll also put other toys on the tray for her to play with.
TWELVE Graco Pack ‘n Play
Our bedroom is downstairs, so we got this to keep downstairs so I have place to lay her down and change her without having to bring her upstairs to her room all the time. It works really well for middle of the night changing. The bassinet and changing pad are removable , and I love that it will covert to a pack ‘n play to put in our bedroom to sleep in once she outgrows her bassinet.
